Pct. 1 Commissioner Lisa Birkman and TxDOT invite the public to attend a ribbon cutting on Thursday, December 18, at 2 p.m. for traffic and safety improvements to RM 620 from Cornerwood to Wyoming Springs, a distance of approximately two miles. The project included widening to a four-lane roadway with two 12-foot travel lanes in each direction, 14-foot shoulders with curb and gutter, and a raised center median.  The project was designed by Halff Associates and CF Jordon was the contractor. The project was completed in 22 months at a cost of $11.6M. The ceremony will be held at Smyers Lane and RM 620, Round Rock, Texas.

Williamson County hosted an open house regarding a traffic study being conducted on Hairy Man Road/Brushy Creek Road from Arrowhead Trail to Sam Bass Road, a distance of 3.77 miles. The study includes conducting traffic operational analysis and public involvement to identify potential projects that would improve traffic flow and safety within the study area. Comments will be accepted until January 15, 2015.

Williamson County, the City of Cedar Park, and the Texas Department of Transportation held a ground breaking on the RM 1431 Pass Through Project on August 26, 2014. The project will widen the highway to a six-lane divided urban section from Market Street to CR 175/Sam Bass Road.  It features a Continuous Flow Intersection (CFI) at Parmer/Ronald Reagan and RM 1431, along with raised medians, curb and gutter, lighting, turn lanes, and drainage improvements.  It is a 16-month project schedule for completion in winter 2015.  The design engineer is Klotz Associates and the contractor is Hunter Industries.
