Groundbreaking for Ronald Reagan Blvd. Ph. 4

Commissioner Valerie Covey, Precinct 3, will host a groundbreaking for Ronald Reagan Boulevard Phase 4 on Thursday, May 10, at 10 a.m. The ceremony will be held at the northern end of the project in Jarrell at the bend in CR 237, less than half a mile west of IH-35. Ronald Reagan Phase 4 extends from SH 195 to CR 237, approximately 6 miles. The roadway construction consists of two lanes with shoulders, of an ultimate four-lane divided rural roadway. The project was designed by AECOM, and Ranger Excavating is the contractor. The cost of construction is $14 million paid for by voter approved road bonds in 2006. The project is expected to be completed in 16 months.

SH 29 Lane Closures in Liberty Hill

The County’s contractor, Joe Bland Construction, has requested daily lane closures on SH 29 in Liberty Hill from April 26 to May 25, 2012. The lane closures will be located from one mile west of CR 277 to CR 200. Expect the outside lanes in each direction to be closed between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day. The closures are necessary to allow safe entrance and exit of haul trucks in the work zone. Access to all driveways and side streets will be maintained at all times. These lane closures will not take place if the pavement is wet or rain is eminent.

Detour Planned for Hero Way

Starting the week of March 5, 2012, for approximately 60 days, there will be a detour at the tie-in of Hero Way to CR 269. For a map of the detour location, click here.

On Wednesday, May 16, and Thursday, May 17, on US 183 at Hero Way, the County’s contractor, DNT Construction, is scheduling work along US 183 northbound for the box culvert extension for the proposed right turn lane. This will require the northbound right lane to be closed on US 183 west of FM 2243 East to Old FM 2243 W. This work will be done between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This work will take place if the weather permits and will not take place if the pavement is wet or rain is eminent.

Court Approves King of Kings Crossing

Williamson County Commissioners Court approved funding this week for a new roadway named King of Kings Crossing to connect Smyers Lane to the northeast edge of the HEB parking lot, which is located at O’Connor Drive and RR 620. The project will increase safety and mobility in that area by providing access to Smyers Lane and Wyoming Springs Drive.
