Project Description

 

Location From US 79 Loop to Main Street (SH 95).
Description Improvements will include upgrading to a 4-lane urban section with curb and gutter and storm sewer system to improve drainage to minimize flooding.  An Interlocal Agreement with the City of Taylor will provide for the replacement of water and wastewater utilities throughout the project length. This section was removed from the State Highways System June 2010.
Status Construction contract was awarded to FT Woods.  Groundbreaking was held February 16, 2011. 

FT Woods moved into Phase 2 of their re-construction of 2nd Street in Taylor on January 27, 2012. Phase 2 consists of one-lane traffic (east/west bound) for the entire stretch of 2nd Street between the Loop (west end of town) and Main Street (Hwy 95). This phase should last for the next four to five months.

Anticipated completion fall 2012.
