IH 35 Frontage Road Conversion and Ramp Reversals

Location IH-35 from Bud Stockton Loop south of Jarrell, TX to the FM 972 Overpass north of Georgetown, TX
Description The project will implement the conversion of two-way frontage roads to one-way and the removal and reconstruction of existing IH-35 ramps within the project limits.

Design was completed by Binkley & Barfield. An open house was held on Thursday June 30, 2016. A summary of the open house can be found under Project Documents. Construction has been funded by TxDOT. The contractor is Dan Williams Company. Construction began summer 2019 and is anticipated to be completed in fall 2020.

Tuesday, March 10, crews opened the new northbound I-35 entrance ramp just south of Bud Stockton Loop (CR 313) as well as the southbound I-35 exit ramp (#274) for Ronald Reagan Boulevard. The existing northbound I-35 entrance and southbound I-35 exit ramps will be closed to traffic Thursday, March 11 at 5 a.m. Once the old ramps are closed, crews will begin constructing the new northbound I-35 exit and southbound I-35 entrance ramps along this stretch of the corridor (see map).

Road signs have been placed to alert drivers of the upcoming closures. TxDOT asks the traveling public to be patient and remain aware when traveling through the work zone.

These closures are part of the Mobility35 program which will bring mobility, safety, and connectivity for all modes of transportation. To learn more about this project and the Mobility35 program, visit my35Construction.org
