Hairy Man Rd/Brushy Creek Rd Safety Improvements

Location Hairy Man Rd/Brushy Creek Rd from Arrowhead Trail to Sam Bass.
Description This project is 3.77 miles in length and includes a traffic study and preliminary evaluation of possible safety improvements along 3.4 miles of the corridor between Brushy Bend Drive and Sam Bass Road.
Status

Project engineer Atkins continues work to finalize the traffic study along Hairy Man Road and also is currently preparing a preliminary schematic plan depicting possible safety improvements. An open house was held June 22, 2016, at the Brushy Creek Community Center to discuss the proposed safety improvements along Brushy Creek Road/Hairy Man Road, along with two alternatives to solve safety and mobility issues at the Great Oaks bridge over Brushy Creek. Another open house was held on Thursday, July 14, 2016, at the Fern Bluff MUD Community Center.

The Great Oaks Drive bridge replacement project is studying the bridge over Brushy Creek at Hairy Man Road / Brushy Creek Road. An Interlocal Agreement with Upper Brushy Creek WCID was approved by the Commissioners Court on July 2013 for participation in the project.  This project also will improve the intersection of Great Oaks Drive and Brushy Creek Road / Hairy Man Road.  P.E.
